Jordan Hasay steals spotlight at Golden West Invitational

When Arroyo Grande’s Jordan Hasay entered the Golden West Invitational for the first time as an eighth grader, she looked to her competition in awe, hoping to keep up with the fastest runners in the nation as she learned the ropes of high school track and field. Five years later, and in her fifth straight trip to the event, Hassay was the headliner, won her event nearly half a lap ahead of the rest of the pack, and drew a standing ovation from a crowd in Folsom eager to see a possible future Olympian.

After 15 years of solitary training in a cramped room, a manually drawn image on the wall as his sparring partner, Oh Dae-su was craving the opportunity to satiate his curiosity: How would fighting skills harnessed opposite a concrete wall translate into pragmatic reality, against real people who will really fight back?

Urijah Faber hospitalized after WEC battle in Sacramento

A battered Urijah Faber was led away from the post-fight press conference he was expected to attend Sunday night in Sacramento and toward an ambulance standing by Arco Arena, then ushered to the UC Davis Medical Center for treatment on a broken right hand he suffered in a five-round battle with Featherweight champion Mike Brown.
