Cousins, Whiteside drafted by Kings
Suddenly trading away Spencer Hawes and Andres Nocioni doesn’t seem so shocking. After dropping all the way to the fifth pick in the NBA Draft Lottery, the Kings lucked out again — just like they did a year ago in landing now Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans — when Kentucky freshman DeMarcus Cousins fell into their laps. With their first round pick, Sacramento quickly snatched up the talented big man, who will replace Hawes in the lineup and look to make an impact immediately for the team.
