The United States men’s basketball team just won the gold medal in Beijing. Spain, which was beaten soundly by USA in pool play earlier in the tournament, put forth a tremendous effort to keep the game a sensational one, and it took that to make the accomplishment for Americans magical.
Although being the favorite in a majority of the sports of the Olympics in Beijing is a spot any team would want to be in, it’s made a few difficult losses tragedies for American teams this year.
Something’s not right. After watching American Nastia Liukin earn a silver medal in the Aug. 18 uneven bars event with a gold medal performance, I’m absolutely convinced something fishy was going on, and unfortunately, it seemed aimed at the Americans.
