Wednesday night’s College World Series victory by the Fresno State Bulldogs was nothing short of magic. It’s rare a Cinderella story sees itself run all the way through the national championship, and for the team to pull it off be our next door neighbors to the west makes the event something for the history books.
Danger, Tragedy Just Part of the Sport?
Death should never be “just part of the sport.” I don’t care what risks are inherently assumed. A sport, regardless of pay or status, is a game, and it should never amount to anything more than a difficult loss or a broken bone.
End of Golfing, Beginning of NBA Glory
Yesterday, I wrote about Tiger Woods’ amazing win in the US Open. Well today he announced he’s out the rest of the season to have surgery on the knee he dramatically had to overcome to win the aforementioned tournament.

A Foul on the NBA
Why is everyone surprised with referee-turned-felon Tim Donaghy’s claims that NBA refs rigged the 2002 Kings-Lakers Game 6 in the Western Conference Finals? He got caught committing a crime, and like any two-bit criminal, he’s turned rat to save his own tail. The problem isn’t his squealing, though, it’s that we don’t want to believe what he had to say was true.
