High school girls basketball power ratings released
High school girls basketball ratings were released by the Sac-Joaquin Section today, giving teams an opportunity to gear where they are in the playoff hunt as their regular seasons end in the coming weeks.
Division I:
In a battle of two defending section champions, currently the favorite is Oak Ridge High, the returning Division II section champs who earned the No. 1 spot in the section’s initial power ratings this week with a 19-1 overall record while going 7-0 in Sierra Valley Conference play. But not far behind is 17-1 Kennedy, who is 6-0 in the Delta Valley Conference and entered this season as the Division I defending section champions. Napa took the No. 3 ranking with an 18-2 overall record and a 5-0 league record.

Pleasant Grove (14-8, 5-0) is No. 4, McNair (17-3, 4-0) is No. 5, Lincoln of Stockton (15-2, 5-0) is No. 6, Sheldon (11-9, 4-1) is No. 7, Turlock (18-4, 7-0) is No. 8, McClatchy (17-3, 4-1) is No. 9 and Franklin of Elk Grove (17-4, 4-2) is No. 10.
Division II:
In Division II play, Bella Vista earned the top spot with an 18-3 overall record while going 5-0 in Capital Athletic League play. Granite Bay was the No. 2 ranking as the Grizzlies sport a record of 15-7 overall and 5-2 in league play. Woodcreek was No. 3 with an overall record of 16-6 and a league record of 5-2.
Vallejo (17-5, 4-1) is No. 4, Fairfield (10-10, 4-1) is No. 5, Valley (16-4, 4-2) is No. 6, St. Francis (11-5, 3-2) is No. 7, Inderkum (17-4, 5-1) is No. 8, Ponderosa (13-9, 4-3) is No. 9 and Rio Linda (13-8, 6-2) is No. 10.
Division III:
Del Oro’s amazing run so far has the team at 17-1 overall and 6-0 in the Sierra Foothill League, which was good enough to earn the section’s top ranking in Division III. St. Mary’s came in at No. 2 with an overall record of 14-1 and a league record of 3-0, while No. 3 went to Vanden, which sat at 17-4 overall and 5-0 in league play.
Sacramento High (15-4, 5-0) is No. 4, El Dorado (18-1, 7-0) is No. 5, Vista del Lago (16-6, 5-2) is No. 6, East Union (17-4, 9-1) is No. 7, Galt (11-9, 5-2) is No. 8, Natomas (13-4, 6-0) is No. 9 and El Camino (15-6, 3-2) is No. 10.
