High school round-up: Round 1 boys basketball playoffs
All but one division began Round 1 of the Sac-Joaquin Section boys high school basketball playoffs so far. Below are the results of how each team fared.
Division I
Round one of the Division I boys basketball playoffs begin Friday at the home sites of the better-seeded teams.

Division II
The Division II bracket kicked off Wednesday night, and will continue with Round 2 play involving the advancing teams on Friday at the home sites of the better-seeded teams.

In Round 1, No. 1 Fairfield beat No. 16 Valley, 63-41. No. 2 Woodcreek knocked off the defending Division I section champs and No. 15 seed Folsom, 67-44. No. 3 Yuba City beat No. 14 Cordova, 76-62. No. 4 Oakmont beat No. 13 Bear Creek, 62-51. No 5 Jesuit beat No. 12 Pitman, 70-49. Defending Division II champ and No. 6 Rocklin beat No. 11 Grant, 67-60. No. 7 Laguna Creek lost to No. 10 Inderkum, 98-86. No. 8 Vallejo beat No. 9 Del Campo, 76-55.
The second round begins tomorrow, as Fairfield will face Vallejo, Jesuit will face Oakmont, Yuba City will play Rocklin and Inderkum will face Woodcreek.
Division III
In Division III play, teams battled to advance from Round 1 on Wednesday night.
No. 1 seed and defending champion Sacramento beat No. 16 Hogan, 89-65. No. 2 Vista del Lago beat No. 15 Sonora, 50-36. No. 3 Del Oro beat No. 14 Sierra, 69-39. No. 4 St. Mary’s beat No. 13 El Dorado, 70-55. No. 5 Rio Americano beat No. 12 Livingston, 80-52. No. 6 Center edged No. 11 Pioneer, 60-58. No. 7 Manteca beat No. 10 Placer, 81-63. No. 8 Lincoln beat No. 9 Foothill, 59-49.
Winners face off tomorrow at the home sites of the better-seeded teams. Sacramento will face Lincoln, St. Mary’s will host Rio Americano, Del Oro will face Center and Vista del Lago will host Manteca.
Division IV
Round 1 play began Wednesday night, as better-seeded teams hosted matchups.
No. 1 seed Colfax beat No. 16 Ripon, 81-53. No. 2 Calaveras beat No. 15 Vacaville Christian, 52-37. No. 3 Modesto Christian stormed through No. 14 Millennium, 100-50. No. 4 Amador lost to No. 13 Capital Christian, 77-65. No. 5 Central Catholic beat No. 12 Escalon, 59-49. No. 6 Mariposa lost to No. 11 Christian Brothers, 49-47. No. 7 Hilmar beat No. 10 Highlands in overtime, 63-58. No. 8 Cosumnes Oaks beat No. 9 Linden, 52-49.
Teams face off for Round 2 tomorrow at the home sites of better-seeded teams. Colfax will face Cosumnes Oaks, Central Catholic will play Capital Christian, Modesto Christian will play Christian Brothers and Calaveras will face Hilmar.
Division V
Division V Round 1 games began on Wednesday night, hosted by better-seeded teams.
No. 1 seed Victory Christian beat No. 16 Elliot Christian, 73-38. No. 2 Ripon Christian beat No. 15 Stone Ridge Christian, 66-31. No. 3 Bradshaw Christian beat No. 14 Sierra Ridge/ROP, 78-62. No. 4 Valley Christian beat No. 13 Big Valley Christian, 75-46. No. 5 Sacramento Waldorf beat No. 12 Tioga, 81-39. No. 6 Brookside Christian beat No. 11 Sacramento Country Day, 79-40. No. 7 Sacramento Adventist lost to No. 10 Forest Lake Christian, 43-40. No. 8 Global Youth beat No. 9 New Life Christian, 66-20.
Winners face off tomorrow in Round 2, at the home sites of the better-seeded teams. Victory Christian will face Global Youth, Valley Christian will play Sacramento Waldorf, Bradshaw Christian will play Brookside Christian and Ripon Christian will face Forest Lake Christian.
