High school round-up: Round 1 girls basketball playoffs update
All but one division began Round 1 of the Sac-Joaquin Section girls high school basketball playoffs so far. Below are the results of how each team fared.
Division I
Round one of the Division I girls basketball playoffs begin tonight at the home sites of the better-seeded teams.

Division II
The Division II bracket kicked off Tuesday night, and will continue with Round 2 play involving the advancing teams tonight at the home sites of the better-seeded teams.
In Round 1, No. 1 seed St. Francis pulverized No. 16 Rosemont, 76-35. Second-seeded Bella Vista beat No. 15 Grant, 61-46. No. 3 seed Vallejo nearly scored 100 points in a blowout victory over No. 14 Atwater, 98-53. No. 4 Fairfield beat No. 13 Rio Linda, 56-45. No. 5 Woodcreek beat No. 12 Pitman, 51-37. No. 6 Granite Bay edged out No. 11 River City, 54-51. No. 7 Inderkum beat No. 10 Vacaville, 56-47. No. 8 Valley beat No. 9 Ponderosa, 62-43.
The second round begins tonight, as St. Francis will host Valley, Fairfield faces Woodcreek, Vallejo will play Granite Bay and Bella Vista will face Inderkum.
Division III
In Division III play, teams battled to advance from Round 1 on Tuesday night.
No. 1 seed St. Mary’s went off for over 100 points, punishing No. 16 Oakdale, 109-43. No. 2 Del Oro beat No. 15 Galt, 54-31. No. 3 Sacramento beat No. 14 Dixon, 63-24. No. 4 Vanden beat No. 13 Manteca, 71-25. No. 5 El Camino beat No. 12 Patterson, 77-43. No. 6, El Dorado beat No. 11 Sonora, 65-41. No. 7 East Union beat No. 10 Rio Americano, 54-43. No. 8 Natomas beat No. 9 Vista del Lago, 58-54.
Winners face off tonight at the home sites of the better-seeded teams. St. Mary’s will host Natomas, Vanden will face El Camino, Sacramento will play El Dorado, and Del Oro will face East Union.
Division IV
Round 1 play began Tuesday night, as better-seeded teams hosted matchups.
No. 1 seed Modesto Christian beat No. 16 Orestimba, 72-29. No. 2 Argonaut beat No. 15 Waterford, 71-25. No. 3 Colfax beat No. 14 San Juan, 64-41. No. 4 Christian Brothers beat No. 13 Hughson, 71-28. No. 5 Bear River beat No. 12 Ripon, 57-36. No. 6 West Campus beat No. 11 Le Grand, 50-27. No. 7 Capital Christian beat No. 10 Calaveras, 53-50. No. 8 Linden beat No. 9 Vacaville Christian, 51-43.
Teams face off for Round 2 tonight at the home sites of better-seeded teams. Modesto Christian will host Linden, while Christian Brothers will face Bear River, Colfax will face West Campus and Argonaut will play Capital Christian.
Division V
Division V Round 1 games began on Tuesday night, hosted by better-seeded teams.
No. 1 Bradshaw Christian beat No. 16 Lodi, 87-12. No. 2 Turlock Christian beat No. 15 Lutheran (at Calvary Baptist Gym), 72-30. No. 3 Wilton Christian beat No. 14 Victory Christian (at Elk Grove High School), 53-34. No. 4 Big Valley Christian lost to No. 13 Foresthill, 48-46. No. 5 Sacramento Waldorf beat No. 12 Faith Christian, 64-30. No. 6 Trinity Prep lost to No. 11 Ripon Christian (at Napa High School), 50-28. No. 7 Sacramento Adventist beat No. 10 Elliot Christian, 45-33. No. 8 Forest Lake Christian lost to No. 9 Valley Christian, 63-61.
Winners face off tonight in Round 2, at the home sites of the better-seeded teams. Bradshaw Christian will host Valley Christian, Sacramento Waldorf will face Foresthill, Wilton Christian will play Ripon Christian (at Elk Grove High School) and Turlock Christian will face Sacramento Adventist at Calvary Baptist Gym.
